when Zarif paints...

please excuse my lack of baju here...
will start with blue
the bekas needs a lil paintwork too
let's check on the brush..
oh! distracted by the TV jap..
... and we're back again
aah... a new colour, a new painting position! hehe
and more experimenting here... finger-painting!
let's use ALL fingers now
ok, think i've had enough ...
ta-daaa...!! ...
Mummy calls this "Monday rush hour"
The scene:
As expected, my lil one would want to try his hand at painting too. (Though he probably didn't see it as practicing a new skill, but rather, kacau the mummy while the mummy has to work. Hmmm....) But anyway.... I was working on a lil new project of mine (for a special client), when Zarif noticed the tubes of acrylic paints on the desk. Instead of brushing him away, or sending him to his Daddy so Mummy can work, I thought, "why not?". After all, I like to encourage my child to like art. So, gave him his art book, my smaller brush, and 2 colours to work/play with.

The set up:
On the floor, lined with the ever-useful oilcloth, him sitting on it and painting away... almost in the nude. Haha! Saves the stress I get when his bajus kotor. At least, ni kotor straight on his badan, just wash it away in the bath.

The result:
Not too bad a painting, if i may say so myself. Hehe. Plus, even better, it kept him focused and rather silent for the whole duration painting, which was a good half an hour!

Mrika (am pronouncing it all),it's good that you're encouraging lil' fella here to paint.Or else when he paints elsewhere (like the wall)..tak ke naya right?
Love your designs...simple yet very classy! Were you professionally trained to do that?

Mama Iman: Hellooooo... Yup, definitely more than 'naya' once he paints on the wall! Of course, the whole time, the Mummy bising la reminding Z to paint ONLY on the paper. This coming from a used-to-be-neat-freak-perfectionist person. Until.... jadi mum to a super buas toddler! These days, I'll be lucky when a day goes by and Z only feeds himself, and not himself plus his trains and other toys!! Suka na he 'water' his toys. Sigh.... challenges faced daily ni. Hehe.

Nway, THANK YOUUUU for having a looksie at my lil collection. And more thanks for loving the 'simple yet classy' designs. Professional training? Hmm... well, I took Art at GCSE and A-Levels, and again in uni for a semester. Will that qualify as professional training then? Hehe. Maybe oso, the art influence that runs in my family, I think.

Muna: I know!!! I sooooo wish I had bought more oilcloth la kat London tht day. Dah la I keep picturing this one particular multi-colour polka dots design ni tht I punya la belek2, contemplating to buy or not. Obviously, didn't buy la kan?Haiyoh. Ah well... Insya-Allah, Izmet may need to go there again for work, then I can tag along again! Hehe. For oilcloths and Marimekko specifically!!
